Hi everybody, this is Joe Lampel, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe Gardner

Show.

Well, based on my garden, looking at the tomato plants with the tomatoes coming on,

they are right on schedule with what should be happening about this time of year.

But I realized, as I was looking ahead to what we had mapped out for our editorial calendar

for the podcast episodes coming up, there was one person that's become kind of a regular

on this show who wasn't in the lineup.

And that is the one and only Craig Lahuel, your author of Epic Tomatoes.

We've had quite a few great conversations over the past few years during the height of

tomato season.

And so that omission was glaringly apparent as I was doing some review.

So there's no time like the president to fix that.

So for this week, that's what we're doing.

We're catching up with Craig from his garden in Hendersonville, North Carolina, and he is

growing over 100 tomato plants this year as you're about to hear.

And if you don't know, Craig, Craig is a world-renowned expert when it comes to tomato

growing and breeding.

He was the person behind the Dwarf Tomato Project, which is now at 130 something variety
