I would like to share an experience I had earlier today in which I, as a new resident of the

Pacific Northwest, and this being my first fall and winter season, I've invested in a happy light,

one of those daylight lamps that blasts your eyes with the furious light of the sun.

It feels just like we're back in Florida.

Well, you know, I'm not used to being in low light conditions for extended periods of time.

So I tried it out.

I had my first little session with my happy light.

And I feel like I really get what it feels like to be a lizard now.

Oh, good.

It was a very reptilian experience. I felt like I was really just, like, basking. Well, because, like, you know, when you have, like, a pet reptile, you usually have to have like a UV light for them to bask in, right? Yeah. Yeah. That's what I felt like. Well, and then the cat moved it between us and the light, triggering that third to a Tara eye.

What do you call it?

Parietal or something like that?

It was like something in your brain that gave me a real sort of fight or flight response.

It's like, oh, no, predator.

Wait a minute.

Where are the predators?
