Today I am very excited because I have a guest with me. I have on the line

we'll cut right over the interview in just a little bit. Ron Leiber, he is a New York Times

column since 2008, writes to your money column, and he wrote a book last year,

now out in paperback, that is called the opposite of spoiled.

My interest was peaked because I am freaked out about

spoiling my kids. So without further to do let me cut over to the interview with

Ron where you will hear us talk about allowance and he basically solved that whole quandary for me and a few other

interesting things so I hope you enjoy.

I'm here with Ron Leiber and you're out of Brooklyn you write for the New York Times and you write for me is what I've decided

looking at your your book here it's called the opposite of spoiled tell me how long has

the book been out wrong the book

has been out about a year it just came out in paperback a couple of weeks ago okay cool so you

you do on a paperback run okay very cool and the the premise of the book, high level, what could you tell

why now listeners? The premise of the book is that it's both a guidebook

to how, when, and why to talk about money.

But it's also a sort of philosophical, almost even a spiritual guide,

if you will, to connect those conversations about money

to all of the values and virtues and care for traits that you want to imprint on

your kids before you kick them out at the age of 18.

Yeah, and you do kick them out, right?
