And bonus, they were good. It's been so long. We've been, maybe you could have Pereira versus

Ancolaev. That was a pretty important fight, but aside from that, the last

eight weeks have just been dire. Robocop versus Canoneer was a nice break, I suppose, but I left this

one a pretty happy camper, if I'm honest. Was there a bad fight on the card? I think most of them

were solid. Even the slower ones like Janda Robo versus Yarn and Hooper versus Miller were all right.

Would have stood out on a worse card.

But we'll see what I talk about lots and what I talk about less.

Why bury the lead? Let's get straight into it.

The context of this fight is,

Volcanoes, reclaims the belt that he lost. He was one of the featherweight great. That division has such a phenomenal lineage. Josayaldo, Connor McGregor, Max Holloway,

Alexander Volkinovsky, Ilya Tupuria.

There's been a couple of interims popped up to, have there been a couple?

Yaya Rodriguez got one, but basically if you get your hands on the real belt, you're the real deal,

and you're probably one of the best fighters in MMA in any division.

It is, yeah, that title has some merit to it that some of the other UFC belts

don't have. Now there is a, you know, there is a asterisk on this. The belt was won by

Ilya from Alexander Okonovsky in a very dominant fashion and then Tupuria vacated it in order to go up and pursue the lightweight belt, because that seems to be what the UFC are doing now, having had too many belts held up by these double title fights, because obviously the guy, if he wins the belt in the weight class above and cements himself as the best in the world there, he's not going to come back down. He's not going to do the weight cut. If he's comfortably the best in the world and the division above, he'll just go there. And no one has ever won the belt above and then come back down and defended the belt below. It's basically like a marketing gimmick. No one is defending both belts in reasonable time. Or maybe Amanda Nunes did, but that's because there wasn't a weight class above.

They just invented a belt for one fight.
