Today we are talking about the Philadelphia Phillies.

Oh, yes, it is the 21st of November, two days before Thanksgiving here in the U.S.,

about 915 in the morning. As I said, we are talking

about the Philadelphia Phillies top 17 prospects for all of our Patreon subscribers, and for

everyone we'll do the top 10 prospects in their system. In my opening preamble, I talk about it being a usual struggle to write

them and this year was no exception. And after I reread it this morning, I didn't know if that

was a fair characterization of their system because it might sound like it don't like it. But I do.

There are some interesting players in here,

but this is typical with the Phillies,

and the reason I really struggle to write about their organization,

one is they like to recruit and sign very high,

upside, high risk, reward types of players.

They've always done that, at least since I've been doing this,

and you kind of get excited about players, and then they blow out. Two is, because they hire

these high, upside players, you would think they would spend a lot of time in the lower minor

leagues, and maybe even the DSL or the Complex League, they really, high upside players, you would think they would spend a lot of time in the lower minor leagues

and maybe even the DSL or the Complex League to really try to shake these guys out and teach

them how to play baseball. But they don't. They're very aggressive, particularly if you get taken

in the top three or four rounds of a draft, they're going to get you to low way as soon as possible.

And we've seen this so many times with their players that they just, they get overwhelmed
