I want to ask you a question. Where do you go in your own thinking, in your own soul, when you feel threatened, when you feel

afraid of something that you know you need to do.

Where do you go to gain the courage you need?

Where do you go to gain the strength that you need?

Now many of us would say right away we turn to God, we turn to the scriptures and that is exactly the right answer because those are the places that provide truth with which we can reorient or thinking

and push aside emotion if necessary,

in order to live according to truth.

In in Exodus chapter 4, we find Moses in a place where that's exactly what he needs to do,

is to remind himself who his God is.

Because God is asking him to do an incredibly overwhelming and difficult thing.

He's to go and become the leader of millions of people to lead

them out of slavery, out of slavery to the greatest power in the world at that time, and all that out of a context where he has

been a nobody for 40 years.

It's a huge circumstance and God is commanding him to do it. And Moses is afraid, he's

timid, he makes up excuses, he doesn't want to do it. And in his last excuse, he says he's not good as speaking.

He says I'm not one to go and do this sort of thing because I'm not eloquent. And God, God is so

merciful. God says to him, first of all, he kind of rebukes him a little bit.

He says, who's made your mouth who makes a man mute

or deaf or seeing or blind isn't me isn't it me the Lord so therefore go and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall speak.

Do you hear what he's saying?
