Well, the American electorate has spoken and in January, Donald Trump will become the 47th president of the

United States, and only the second president to leave the White House and return four years later,

since Grover Cleveland did just that in 1893. It's been quite a political comeback, and the

voting wasn't even that close. Despite recent opinion polls suggesting a narrow Kamala Harris victory,

Trump prevailed both in the electoral college and in the popular vote.

So what does all this mean for Ukraine and NATO?

That's what we'll be discussing in a moment.

But first, Roger, what's your immediate response to the news?

Were you expecting it?

I must admit, Saul, I wasn't as surprised, I think,

as some people with a Trump victory this morning. I think the, you know, things like if you look at

the sort of spread betting and how that's been going over the last sort of few days, certainly prior

to the election, that was, that seemed to be reasonably consistent in edging it to Trump.

And I think a lot of, you know, a lot of those sort of concerns of, you know, middle America

and all of that, you know, didn't go away. Trump expressed it in his weird and clumsy way,
