| 0:00.0 | I was getting into money laundering cases like never before. There was, there was a case where I just |
| 0:04.7 | happened to be at the right airport at the wrong time and arrested a guy who had been arrested a |
| 0:09.6 | couple times before for narcotics. It seized his plane, worked with some investigators, and we |
| 0:14.2 | ended up with a 276 count money laundering case against this guy. And the guy had assets all over. And I ran into him seven days after my |
| 0:22.8 | third child was born. And we'd left the house just once and ran into this guy at the same gym |
| 0:28.7 | where my wife was working. And he didn't make like threats, threats, but he made a scene. And I called |
| 0:34.3 | the prosecutor. And she's like, well, probably not going to be able to do him on these seizures. |
| 0:40.3 | But if you get into his bank records, I bet we could do a money laundering case. And 276 counts later, I had a death threat in that case, was over in Pohua, Hawaii and was able to arrest him. |
| 0:48.6 | And so I've never looked back on those financial cases. |
| 1:04.5 | Yeah. on those financial cases. Hey, everybody, welcome back to this week's episode of Game of Crimes with Murph in the |
| 1:08.2 | morning. |
| 1:09.0 | I'm Murph, your host. |
| 1:09.9 | Thank you so much for coming back every week. |
| 1:12.0 | I appreciate your loyalty, and I hope you enjoy the guests we're bringing on. And today, we've got |
| 1:15.9 | another stud guest out here. You see this young man on the screen here. He's a retired 25-year |
| 1:22.4 | veteran of the Drug Enforcement Administration, a special agent. This is David. I'm going to tell you just a little bit about him. |
| 1:29.5 | When we were talking, the thing that intrigued me, I didn't know David on the job. |
| 1:33.5 | He's, as you can tell, he's a little bit younger than me. |
| 1:36.1 | But what intrigued me as we talked is his background in financial investigations. |
| 1:41.9 | And he's actually recognized as an expert witness in federal court when it comes to financial investigations. You folks that know me that come back every week, you know I can't even balance a checkbook. So we might have a little trainer course at the end of the presentation here on how to do that, but we'll see how this goes. But David, David Tyree, welcome to the show, brother. Well, thank you so much for having me, Steve. I sure appreciate it. What an honor. And an honor to meet you. I have seen you in my career just didn't have the courage to come up and speak to you. Well, thank you for saying that, but it's not a whole lot of old man can do. So I love, I tell you what, that's what I love. You and I were talking a little bit before we got started here. That's what I love about the podcast and our speaking events that Javier and I do is we get to go out and meet law enforcement people around the world. And it's like, it's like living vicariously through what they do. So I love having guests on here. Most of them are retired, but some of them are still active duty. You always learn something new here, right? Well, by the end, I might teach you how to balance your checkbook. I did fail math in high school, so you know, you get what you get. You know, I sucked at math in high school, but I got to college. I think I finally got a professor that, you know, knew he was dealing with an idiot. |
| 2:55.2 | And so he dumbed it down to my level where I understood it. |
| 2:58.5 | And I kind of took off after that. |
