Welcome back to Issues etc. I'm Todd Wilkin. We are broadcasting from the 68th regular convention

of the Lutheran Church Missouri Senate here in Milwaukee on the Sunday night July the 30th.

It's time for a little update. Some business has been accomplished already here

in the first day of the convention. A lot of business yet to do. Joining us for an update and a

prospect is forward. Mark Stern, he's an attorney in Chicago, a convention delegate and a member

of the committee for the convention nominations. Mark, welcome back.

Thank you, Pastor Wilkin. Okay, so Mark, if you would, just give us a rundown of what's happened

so far today. Well, we had the introductory minutes procedures, rules, things of that nature,

and I got off to a little bit of a clunky start with some technical difficulties,

but that got straightened out after lunch and then they moved into substantive issues.

Most important to which was the election of the regional vice presidents, all of the existing

regional vice presidents and the first vice president were reelected. And after that,

we also recognized Alter and Public Fellowship with five new church bodies worldwide, which is
