tiny I mean tiny not counting the two farms with their big old farmers houses, there were five homes, a farm shop, and a pub. That's it.

At the edge of the village was a bus stop and that was my portal to civilization for the first 17 years of my life.

Life was the same for all the kids in the surrounding villages too.

It wasn't just us that lived like that.

We had nothing to do at home and only one

notoriously unreliable bus service to get us out of our various little hamlets.

So when I reached my mid-teens and owning a car became an option, the prospect of getting my hands on one seemed like my golden ticket to freedom.

I could go anywhere, do anything, get out of my drab little village for days at a time, and all I needed was a bit of

petrol money.

I work my butt off, saving every penny I could, putting it all towards this little three-door hatchback I'd

spotted in the local paper.

Then on my 17th, my dad revealed he'd already put a deposit down on it, and all I

had to do was pay off the rest out of my own money and I own the thing.
