Summary

Welcome to the Lord of the Rings lore cast, the show that explores the background of

0:11.2

Tolkien's amazing world from the very beginning. So today we're still working our way through chapter two of the Fellowship of the Ring.

0:30.2

And I promise we will get through this chapter eventually, but not today.

0:36.2

This episode is going to be the second to last episode about chapter

1:51.5

with Gandalf challenging Frodo to try to dispose of the ring, try to break it, use a hammer,

1:59.0

or melt it, see what happens.

2:01.7

And so Frodo takes the ring out of his pocket and he looks at it.

2:06.0

And we end up with a very interesting moment.

2:10.8

It's described as being plain and smooth without device or mark, nothing that he can see. But here's the description I really want to focus on.

2:21.6

The gold looked very fair and pure, and Frodo thought how rich and beautiful was its color,

2:30.2

how perfect was its roundness. It was an admirable thing and altogether precious.
