Today we will take a deeper look at the character of Jacob and share some things we've learned

It was. We've probably learned a few things since then.

I remember when I recorded this the first go-around. Like I had so much angst about the Jacob and Joseph story.

And man, do people get so upset about that? I feel a lot of emails and messages.

I was going to ask about that because I listened back on the episode and that's how we start the story of Jacob.

You're like, you know, this is a character I really struggle with.

And I was like, okay, I wonder if four years later you're still having that same struggle with the character or if you've learned some things that give you a different appreciation for Jacob or what?

So I assume we'll get to that over the course of a couple of episodes.

But yeah.

Yeah, absolutely. And really, if you would ask me, you just said four years.

If you would ask me four weeks ago, I don't know if I would have really made a whole lot of whatever you want to call it progress in that regard.

As far as my perspective, I think I had like settled it in my own consciousness a little bit.

But lo and behold, I got rabbi David Foreman's.

He wrote a parasha companion, Genesis, a parasha companion, recently released Exodus.

I'm assuming he's going to do all five books of Torah here.

But I got the Genesis. I read through it. It was the best treatment of Jacob and Joseph, particularly Jacob, the best treatment of Jacob.

And it's just a, I don't know, 30, 40, 50 pages of material on Jacob and not like super in depth pages, but the best treatment on Jacob I've ever read.
