Summary

Thank you for joining us for our 2nd Cabral HouseCall of the weekend!

I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of our community’s questions that have come in over the past few weeks…

Let’s get started!

Lindsey: hello Dr Cabral. Thank you for all you do. For the last year I have gotten many chilazens on both eyes. At this current moment I have 3 on one eye one on the other. I do the hot compresses every day with no effect. After seeing many doctors one finally diagnosed me with ocular rosacea. Unfortunately the only suggestion was three weeks or more of antibiotics. My question is what is the underlying cause of ocular rosacea, or chilazens in general. The doctor said the oil is stuck in the gland, but I want to know why it keeps happening. Also any recommendations? Thank you!

Shari: Hi doctor Cabral, I hope you’re having a great day! I was wondering if you could help me with following: I’ve been diagnosed with hypothyroidism, SIBO and dysbiosis. I want to start treating them naturally, however I’m wondering which came first - the thyroid problems or gut problems. I feel that one probably caused the other. What are your thoughts about it? And which one should be treated first? Thank you SO much for your podcast and everything that you do! And just FYI - I’ve just purchased the CBO protocol and I have a feeling that it will help me on my way to perfect health :) Shari

Joanna: Hi Dr Cabral Hoping you can help. I have completed the full CBO and while on the CBO I was taking Vitamin C crystals for histamine ( I took this type of vitamin C as better for oxolates) towards the end of the CBO I started getting alot of reflux burping etc. I am now on the heal and seal. I have found Vitamin C and anything with citrus like lemons etc causes tingling in my face and hands and now down to feet. I am assuming this is due to low b12 and low iron from low stomach acid. Is it possible Vitaminc C straight ascorbic acid can cause low stomach acid or even push down b12? As I retested my HTMA towards the end of the CBO and my cobolt was down to 0. Before CBO was normal. On heal and seal now and I still have bloating plus tingling and reflux, I have started taking hcl and removed any foods causing me reflux. My main question is, I am concerned I now have a return of SIBO due to low stomach acid, I am a bit concerned of doing the GSE drops again as it's citrus and have done GSE already like 3 times now over a few years, and concerned my stomach lining has eroded Would he clean gut probiotic be enough to help with any remaining SIBO if there is any? Or you can only remove SIBO with GSE, GI balance and clean gut all together? Many thanks for your help much appreciated :)

Maria: Hi Dr. Cabral! I’ve been reading a lot about the benefits of plant protein and have been trying to convert myself over to eating less animal protein. My ultimate goal would be maybe 5 animal protein meals a week, instead of the 14 I currently eat. My problem is that I’m having a hard time adjusting to the fiber intake of beans, chickpeas, etc. After eating a meal with 1 cup of black beans or chickpeas, I have horrible gas and bloating. I’ve done the food sensitivity test and no legumes showed up as sensitivities, so I’m guessing this reaction is all due to fiber. How do you suggest I make this conversion? How long should it take for my body to get used to this amount of fiber? Side note, I have awful histamine issues that I’m currently addressing, so I stay away from tofu because of the high histamine level. Currently on week 2 of CBO protocol.

Bec: Can you please give me insight into my eating pattern. Largely I am an extremely healthy eater. Green juices (largely veg), balanced meals (protein, fats, Veg) take Foundational supplements, exercise, 3L water & mid week fasting days & don’t take medications. Have done Cabral 21 day detox, Cabral intestinal cleanse (12 months ago) & Liver Cleanse. But I need to understand the psychology of my; 1. Binge eating on sugar. The desire for sugar generally occurs after a healthy meal-but if I sample sugar it turns into a binge ( uncontrollable). I am unable to have a small portion. I don’t understand the physiology/chemistry of my body that I am so overwhelmed with sugar. 2. When Im with a social group and a platter is presented ( cheese, Quince, Crackers). I eat uncontrollably even if I am satiated prior OR a meal is provided after. I try to analyse whether it is nervous energy/do something with hands-but feel Im a confident person and shouldn’t need to obsessively/anxiously snack. 3. Drink Fast-again in social scenarios I drink quickly. I replace some alcoholic beverages with sparkling water to offset the speed and therefore the amount I drink. I also used to be a social smoker-so wonder whether this eating/bingeing behaviour is some mild neurosis. Pls help me understand & overcome.

Anonymous: Hi Dr. Cabral, I am a devoted listener and I'm going through IHP level 1 right now and loving it. I researched my question, but couldn't find an answer. Hoping you can help. My husband was recently diagnosed with gynecomastia. He is 6' 1" and 165lbs. Eats a healthy, well balanced diet of mostly organic food and is on a good daily regiment of supplements. He has had the minerals and metals test run about 6 months ago and the hormone test run about a year ago. Both pointed towards his body being under a lot of stress...electrolytes depleted, cortisol high at lunch and too low in the evening, and his DHEA and Testosterone were low (testosterone was 68), estradiol was normal. We implemented the protocols given at the time by his practitioner, including taking DHEA for 12 weeks. The things he is working on are his sedentary lifestyle (he works from home as a computer tech and his low energy makes it hard for him to get up and get moving as much as he would like) and he typically has a drink or 2 most evenings. He's decided to cut back on his coffee and alcohol intake. We are wondering what else we can do to help this problem? Is it an estrogen dominance problem? And if so, could he try Estrogen Balance or a DIM supplement? Thanks so much for your help!
