Hello and welcome back to another new episode on the Historic Royal Palaces podcast.

I'm Claudia and I'm the producer on this podcast.

Today we're trying something new as it's March, the month of International Women's Day,

and what better way to celebrate than with two special episodes featuring our chief curators of historic royal palaces?

So I'm here at Hampton Court today with Lucy Worsley and I'm going to be asking her 21 questions.

How did you start your day to day, Lucy?

Well, I got up and I took the train. I live in central London and to come out to

Hampton Court Palace every morning is a bit of an adventure, particularly because it's half term. There were

loads of kids running about outside and laughing and they were all coming in. One of them asked his mom, will I see aeroplanes?

And I'm thinking, no, you're very confused about where you're going.

And in central London, it was lovely and bright and sunny, but when I got here, as you can see outside,

everything's shrouded in mist this morning.

And the palace was kind of lurking monstrously through the mist like it was in a horror film.

And what do you have planned for the rest of your day, Lucy?

Well, today we have a meeting of something called the Research Strategy Board

and say we'll be talking about what research projects we have coming up, what's going well,

what we'd like to do more of. We're going to be discussing, oh, I'm not sure if I can tell our

listeners, but we're going to be discussing two very exciting new projects that you're going to be

hearing more about in the future. This is, you know, deep dives into the historical research

that the curators do at historical palaces,

not just Hampton Court.
