Summary

Danny Leroux joins for a new style of episode jumping around the NBA to talk about the NBA's first games, including Giannis, the Mavericks, the Hawks, and plenty other topics. The goal here is to do a show where we can talk about a lot of things within an hour and have fun doing so. We spend approximately three minutes on each question, and they include: -what team disappointed you most with their opener? -What team surprised you most? -If Giannis learned how to shoot pull-ups like he showed confidence with in the opener, how drastically does that alter the MVP/best player in the world discussion? -Did the Suns make the right or wrong call not extending DeAndre Ayton? -Is Anthony Edwards the most fun player in the NBA? -Kings! I think my pick for first time all-star in the west this year is De’Aaron Fox in a wild card slot. Are you as high on Fox as I am? -Can Eric Bledsoe sustain in a Bruce Brown-like role from last year?  -The Spurs were really fun against the Magic. Who is your favorite young guy on the Spurs? -How long does this three-big experiment last for the Cavaliers?  -Can Will Barton bring the Nuggets jusssstttttt enough offense to keep the perimeter play afloat while Jamal Murray is out for them to sustain as a 50-win team? -Robert Williams looks great for the Celtics. Is there a chance we look back at that deal as a legitimate steal for Boston? -the pacers tossed up 3s on 53% of their shots. They lost to the Hornets in the opener, but are you more bullish on them just based on process? -Are the Blazers a six-deep team, or do we trust Simons/Little/Snell once he gets back? -are you a believer in Pokuism, the acceptance of Aleksej Pokusevski as your basketball savior? I'm joined today by Danny LaRue, who's going to be the guinea pig for this little

experiment.

0:44.0

Danny, how you doing?

0:45.7

I'm doing well, sir.

0:47.7

Appropriate to be the guinea pig, considering I believe the first episode of game

0:51.0

theory was the two of us just talking about stuff.

0:53.5

That's probably true. I think it's right. I think that's actually dead right, to be honest.

0:58.2

I don't even think like the first episode of game theory is on this feed anymore. Like, I don't

1:03.5

even think people can find it because whenever I transferred from the good people over at CLNS,

1:09.1

over to the athletic, I think I might have lost maybe like 100, 150 episodes kind of near the end there.

1:15.4

But that's fine, whatever.

1:16.6

You know, archives are old archives and they go away sometimes.

1:21.1

The format here that we are going to employ, I'm referring to 21 questions. And yes, of course, we're basing it off

1:31.5

of the 50 cent song. Shout out 50 cent. Shout out Megan Good. Everyone remembers that video.

1:37.2

If you are, what, between 25 and 35? Is that age right, Danny?

1:43.1

I mean, I'm 36, but sure. Yeah, like, I'll throw it up to 40.

1:49.0

Like, everyone remembers 21 questions video. It's like, you know, one of the most important

1:53.1

videos I can remember in my childhood for sure. So we're going to run through 21 questions.

2:01.6

We're going to put a three-minute stopwatch on the clock here.
