In 31, I just want to mention this.

We are doing chapter 3, the discernment of the self, the real self, who we are by a special method, the method of the five sheets.

And we saw that by seeing that none of those sheets, I am, neither each of them individually,

nor all of them together, I am not them,

but I am there as the witness of those five sheets.

Now by the denial, by the negation of the five sheets we find that what

remains is the witness. Now if somebody says what do you mean what remains if

you deny everything in the world there is nothing if you say that all of this

you deny the external world and the physical body and the mind and everything you deny,

then basically what you are saying is nothing.

There's nothing that remains.

Why do you say something remains over?

That's where the 31st verse comes in.
