| 0:00.0 | So guys, I thought I'd change things up and start with an email this week. |
| 0:03.0 | Wow, that's different. |
| 0:04.0 | Incredible, unpredictable. |
| 0:05.0 | Yeah, I know. |
| 0:06.0 | This one is from Alex K. Alex K. Alex. It starts, Hey, y'all. My name is Alex, and I'm a 15-year-old high school student from America. I started listening to the podcast when it first came out as a means of distracting myself from a blood draw I was about to get. and you'll be happy to know that I'm at least slightly engaged. |
| 0:22.1 | I just got that at least slightly engaged. |
| 1:12.8 | I just got that at least like, wow, fantastic. Thanks. At least slightly engaged. Because the show came out on Mondays, I would always listen to them as I came off at the weekend and had that first gym day of the week. It felt like all you guys were on the stair machines or treadmills next to me talking about science so I could never understand, but still enjoyed listening to, including actually learning and retaining the occasional simplistic knowledge nugget. To that end, I was wondering if this is such a, this is an essay of an email. Just a little bit. If you guys could do an episode on the science of learning, your brain making new synapses, different learning styles, holistic learning, etc. That would be great as I'm headed back to school in a few days time and need a familiar comfort of you guys talking about something I could vaguely understand. Thank you, Alex. Is that what this week's episode is about? It's not the series of that. Oh, gory. That was dreadful. You just read an email basically requesting an episode that's really interesting, and then you're just going to not give us it. |
| 1:14.5 | Maybe next week? No. |
| 1:16.0 | Okay. |
| 1:17.6 | Shall we get started? |
| 1:20.5 | Should we just leave that in? Yeah, right. Fair enough. Start the show. Hello, and welcome to the Sci guys, the show where we talk about the crazy, weird, and wonderful stories from the science world. |
| 1:34.5 | I'm Corey, and as usual, I'm joined by my co-hosts, Jamp, and Luke Cutfer. |
| 1:37.6 | Good day. |
| 1:38.1 | Hello. |
| 1:52.8 | Thank you. Just a heads up, I had to change it to usual, because Luke left for three weeks. |
| 1:55.2 | You said that last week, Corey. Get over it. |
| 1:57.0 | As usual. Not every time. |
| 1:59.7 | This week we'll be talking about gut feelings and crap diets. |
| 2:01.6 | I think gut feelings are a real thing. They are. I think they are evidence of spirituality. So, you're wrong? I'm excited for this. Okay. A real thing. Evidence. They are a real thing, but not because of that. You don't, you can't make that statement. You don't know that. No. Yeah. like all of science. He is the science. I sound like you. I don't know anything. I'm |
| 2:19.4 | very open about the fact I don't know anything. Okay. But you're, that's the whole point is I'm going, |
| 2:24.3 | we don't know anything, guys. And you're going, we tested these things and they are correct. |
| 2:28.0 | We were listening back to the first episode and there was this one point where you said that you |
