Summary

In this week's episode of A Waste of Time with ItsTheReal, we welcome our great friend Bun B to the Upper West Side for an hour and a half conversation that ranges from meeting Outkast for the first time to missing out on free Kanye beats to why JJ Watt is a superhero. We discussed Bun being there when Birdman met Mannie Fresh, the greatest thing he ever saw at Freaknik, and the time Sam Cassell almost ran him over in his Range Rover. All that, plus recording at Mike Dean's house during the early UGK days, dancing in the Solange video, the possibility of running for office in Houston, PERFORMING ON STAGE WITH ITSTHEREAL, and much, much more! 0:22.9

On both. All right. Okay. We have some good episodes, I feel like people might enjoy. Like what? We have Joe Budden from last week talking about Monopoly. We have Joe Mandy talking about Gucci Main, and we have Jojo talking about Jojo. Just lots of, lots of Joes. Yeah. like that Casley track where it was like all Joes. Yeah, it was not your average Joe. Not your average Joe with Fat Joe and Joe Button and the singer Joe. Yeah. All right, well, we should talk about that sometime. But for now, let's get into this podcast with the Button B. When do you want to start it? Right now. Yo, what up? It's Eric, aka newsstands and bylines, aka magazines and clips. Yo, what up? It's Jeff, aka bad friend, good lover, aka the backstabber. Yo, this Bunby, aka the Trillo G, aka Bobby, your baby mama, baby. Yeah, and this is waste of time with this. The real. Chick-chick, boom. That was a shotgun. Bun. You guys like automatic. No, it's true. I'm a Texan. I brought a shotgun. Very typical. Thank you for coming to the Upper West Side for this. Oh, thank you for having me. Oh, we... That's a silver work.

2:02.5

It was an amazing tour, by the way, I have to say. Yeah. We're just glad that you were there for the last show. No, I mean, we closed out with a bang, I think. You know, having the band there was a great addition. Having me there was an incredible addition. It was a big to do, obviously, to put on the Yolono tour.

2:17.7

A lot of it fell onto Jeffs and my shoulders, including the planning of getting you certain places, setting up the audio equipment. And then Greg Mayo, who ran the band, that was a lot on him. There was a concern that you would fly in at a certain time, and would you be there when we were going to hit, you know, and start Girls with the dirty souts, the song you're on of ours. And our brother Dan was coordinating. Right. Dan was running point for everything. Which he did a very good job by mad ass. Yeah, well, he has a real job, so he has like real responsibility. And he was wearing a suit, so he looked official. People thought that he was our manager. But you came in. I think he thought he was, too. You came in, you came in basically on time. Basically on time. And then Dan gave you a 15-minute heads up. You were staying in the Gansavort. So Dan was like, oh, should I... I just got in my head as if people could hear that. Dan was like, Dan was like, oh, should I have given him like a buffer?

3:08.9

Should I have like sort of told him maybe 20 minutes or, you know, something to sort of get

3:13.7

him down on time?

3:15.0

Bun at like 14 minutes and 59 seconds steps off the elevator.

3:19.0

Dan was like, whoa.

3:20.4

And so we're on stage.
