Summary

In the aftermath of the election, Kimberly Atkins Stohr hosts #SistersInLaw to answer your questions.  The #Sisters cover the guardrails that can protect the country from Trump, what happens to his criminal cases and convictions, the effect of the election on his sentencing, and why the civil cases and judgments against him might prove to be the best tool for holding him accountable.  They also discuss the spread of disinformation, how to limit the dangers of social media, why people might have split their vote, getting the facts out, how to break out of our echo chambers, and more.

Well, we are less than a week out from the results of the election, and we have all already

0:47.3

heard from so many listeners. This has been really difficult. It's been rough. It's certainly, to our listeners, you know, this is not

0:57.0

the result that any of us really wanted, certainly not with such a resounding margin. And that that is

1:07.3

hard. So we're going to do the show a little differently today. We're going to just

1:10.9

talk a little bit about how we're feeling about all of this. And then we're going to spend the rest of

1:15.7

the show answering our listeners questions because we really do mean it when we say that is a highlight

1:21.7

of why we do what we do. And I think there's nothing better. There's no better way to do the show this week than

1:28.8

centering the listeners for predominantly women who have supported us. We are grateful for that

1:37.1

support. And support is the name of the game in the short term, while each of us takes the time

1:43.4

to recover, recoup, and reset ourselves for

1:47.3

what is ahead. So I can't think of a better way to spend the show. But first, I just want to,

1:52.9

you know, give everybody a chance to just sort of say what's on their mind. Jill, start with you.

2:05.4

Well, I started out in despair and sadness. It turned my to angst and then to anger, but now it's turning into action.

2:15.3

And I've decided that I am not defeated by this, that none of us should be, that we all should take and be motivated to do something to work so that in two years the next election has a different outcome.

2:31.3

I hope that things that we are predicting or have predicted will not come true,

2:39.2

that Donald Trump will not do all the horrendous things that Project 2025 predicts,
