We, like the Athenians, are catechized into a culture that is all about consuming the

latest things. We want to be part of the latest and greatest and newest and shiniest thing that's distracting everybody.

This is the fad-driven church.

And I would note that when it comes to fads and the church, oftentimes they do not disappear completely.

They end up changing the course of the church altogether.

nothing at all. I mean, they say words.

There are words coming out of their mouth, but it amounts to nothing.
