Today is the 8th of December, about 5 o'clock in the evening.

I hope everyone is having a great Thursday that after all the signings over the last three days,

just remarkable how much money was spent in Major League Baseball signing star players.

And it's interesting.

I think it's, I read something and it kind of, it kind of jogged my memory that Bryce Harper was

really the first guy that signed one of these enormous deals. And then they spread it over a very

long period of time, 13 years. So instead of the player really getting deferred money, they're

actually deferring it to a shorter period of

time. So, you know, instead of seven years and $50 million, they make it 12 years and

12 years at, you know, $35 or $40 million. The net number is the same same so the player wants to sign for 300 million

dollars and the team just tries to make it work financially by spreading the thing out again

back in the day they would actually defer it but apparently that's doesn't seem to be invoke anymore

which i don't know, the Bobby Benia thing

always worked for me, but time value of money says a dollar today is worth a whole lot more

than it is in the future.

You haven't seen that for years, but you see it this year because of the crazy

inflation that we've had, though that seems to have

corrected a little bit over the last couple of months.

But, I mean, that's, I mean, we see when we go buy bread or you go buy gas or whatever.
