Hi, this is Alonzo Bowden. I want to welcome you to episode 208 of my podcast, who's paying attention. I want to

apologize for not having done a podcast for about 10 days. I am on my jazz cruises. As many of you know,

this time of year, I go out, and I am a comedian and a host and a fan and just I love them but I do the blue note jazz

crews followed by the jazz crews which is straight ahead old school jazz that's where I'm at

now followed by the smooth jazz cruise so I'm basically at sea for three weeks now if you've ever

been on a cruise ship you know that internet speeds and access are dial up at best.

Look it up, kids, dial up internet. It's how it started. We used to get

bongkang sounds from AOL. Remember AOL? You ever talk to someone who has an AOL email and

you're like, wow.

Anyway, it makes it difficult to do things like this, like record the podcast.

Also, difficult to get news.

There is some TV, but I don't really consider that news watching CNN or MSNBC or even Fox or even Fox on rare occasions. So I've been sort of unplugged and you know something?

It's nice. It's nice. Kids, I recommend you unplug every now and then. Just give it a week of like minimal news. Like just pay attention for, you know, if your house is on fire or if, you know, a major disaster is headed your way or something like that.

Otherwise, just tune out.

It's been kind of nice.

I'm aware of some things.

I did watch the State of the Union bullshit.

I mean, the State of the Union address.

Trump has friends.

He brought them all.

He brought his black friend who apparently got a job as a welder, which surprised him.

A man went to school and got a job.
