Hi everybody, it's Joe Lample, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe Gardner

Show.

Today we are going to talk about understanding fertilizers and how to use them.

And the reason for that is you don't really need a reason, you should just know that,

but we're getting into the growing season, everyone's anxious to get outside and get

their seedlings in the ground, or start their gardens, and they're wondering how and

when and if to apply fertilizers, and if so, what to use, and is it organic or synthetic,

what's the difference, how do I choose, what are my options, you get the picture.

And so those questions are always coming up, we get those pretty much every day.

And until you really have a working knowledge of the basics of the fertilizers, what the

numbers mean, what the ratios mean, what they're really made up of, and how they work,

you don't have all your arrows in your quiver, you really need a working knowledge of that.

So my effort today is to revisit that in an encore presentation I did a while back

around this time of year, with the intent of getting us off to the best start possible

above and below ground, and that starts with building the soil health and getting those

nutrients into the soil, so the soil can feed the plants if you do it the right way.

So that's what we're going to talk about today.
