1:08.4 | who you are and why you do what you do. Sure. Hi, Sammy. Thank you so much for |
1:12.4 | having me. I am a school psychologist, which means that I work at a high school, and I help students |
1:19.2 | who have something getting in the way of their learning. So that might be something like a learning |
1:23.3 | disability or ADHD, or I have some students with anxiety anxiety and I have some students with all of the |
1:28.7 | above things. But I love that role, but I also work as an academic life coach because I get to work |
1:35.7 | with teenagers on things like managing their time, building their confidence, helping them get better |
1:40.9 | grades with less stress. And that's the type of work that really makes my heart happy. |
1:46.1 | And I get to have these wonderful long-term relationships with teenagers that I don't always get to do in the school setting. |
1:53.1 | And so that's how I found the field of academic life coaching. |

1:56.9 | I love that. |
1:57.8 | And the work that you do is so important, especially for those teens that do have ADHD or other learning disabilities or things that distract them more than others. I know my daughter has OCD. And so a lot of times learning, she learns differently than other teens do. And so I feel like what you do in your role and helping teens be successful is so important. |
