In the autumn of 2011, a teenage girl from North Ogden, a quinceoburb in Utah, suddenly disappeared under mysterious circumstances, while fulfilling her baby-sitting duties at a nearby home.

As authorities delved into the unsettling case, their quest for answers would ultimately thrust them into the sorted and depraved realm of drugs and predators.

Alexis Rosmoson was born to Don Miera and Kirk Rosmoson on the 24th of February 1995. The relationship unfortunately wasn't to last.

Kirk moved over to Arizona but remained in contact with his daughter. By 2011, 16-year-old Alexis was a student at Weber High School and her warm and welcoming nature earned her many friends.

She was described as a very happy and upbeat teenager who had big plans for her life. Her biggest ambition was to become a nurse and she was looking forward to those dreams materializing when she left school.

Her uncle, we had read, said of her. Everything about Lexi was remarkable. She touched people with her heart, her smile, her eyes.

Alexis loved nothing more than spending time with her friends and family, whether that be odd shopping or just carled up in front of the television together.

She had a typical love-hate relationship with her brother. While they fought like cats and dogs, they loved each other immensely and were the best of friends.

At home, Alexis liked to fill her time by reading and drawing and she had an amazing singing voice that could put a smile on anybody's face.

Her mother Dawn said of her daughter, she could drive you crazy and have you laughing at the same time. She was a look at me girl, here I am. People would follow her and listen to her.

At school, Alexis was always among the first to make new students feel welcome or stick up for anybody who was feeling left out.

Destiny Randall recalled her on one occasion. She was temporarily sent to an alternative school.

Alexis immediately reached out to her and said that when she came back to school, she'd be her friend no matter what.

Destiny recollected and she was. She was a very good friend.

On the 10th of September 2011, 16-year-old Alexis Rasmussen was baby sitting at the home of Eric and Dea Millerburg at 328-8 North, 900-Aced, North Ogden, Utah.

Over the past month, Alexis had baby sat for the couple who had a five-year-old girl and a newborn.

Alexis's mother Dawn was pleased that she was taking her very first steps to independence.

Alexis had been keen to earn her own money. Plus, Dawn was friends with Dea and she trusted her.
