On the morning that we recorded this, the latest Golden Globe nominations were announced.

And I wanted to bring this up this episode because the good thing to do, the right thing to do, the cool thing to do would be to say that I don't care about this.

That would be a lie, though, wouldn't it?

It would be a lie, and it would be a lie on a couple of different levels, because first

of all, I do care.

I am curious.

I looked at the list because I wanted to see what got nominated.

Award shows like this are interesting as a reflection of what Hollywood thinks its mission

is, the way Hollywood wants to be viewed, The sort of things that Hollywood is putting forward as, this is us, this is the best of us.

And the Golden Globes, which are, you know, obviously a sham organization.

It's the Hollywood Foreign Press, which are like a bunch of people who like write like one clickbait article a year each about like, oh, we saw a side boob.

They publish it on some website somewhere.

That's what the Golden Globes are.

And they take bribes, allegedly.
