I'm Aaron Feifield and it's with great pleasure that I introduce to you a special guest, Dan David.

Dan is the founder of Wolfpack Research, a firm that goes to extreme measures to meticulously understand the business operations,

technical aspects and financials of listed companies.

When uncovering a disconnect between what a company announces to the market and what Wolfpack

deems to be the truth, the firm may build a short position in the company and publish their findings in a detailed research report.

In other words, Dan's what is commonly regarded as an activist short seller.

If you've seen the documentary The China Hustle, then you'll already be well familiar with Dan.

He was the lead protagonist throughout the film.

If you've not seen it, then The China Hustle is a documentary about the key players,

or rather activist shorts, who revealed egregious cases of fraud by Chinese companies

that were listing on US markets through the process of a reverse merger.

As you'll hear, Dan wasn't exactly thrilled with the outcome of the film,

but regardless, it probably tops my list of favourite finance documentaries.

You should definitely give it a watch because it's fascinating.

I know it's on the Australian Netflix, I'm not sure about elsewhere.
