You've decluttered and hopefully you're feeling pretty good about it. You go, girl. So now it's

time to learn some quick habits to stop clutter in its tracks and prevent the expected

mess that happens from everyday life from piling up and getting too overwhelming.

This is especially important and helpful as a lot of us head into the warmer summer months.

When the kids are home more, there's more busyness in some sense, more activities, more in and out of the

house, which means more stuff coming in and out of the house. So use one or two of these

throughout your summertime. I promise you it will change your summer and your ability to really

embrace and enjoy your summertime. So number one, dedicated donation bins. Think about the times

you see clutter throughout your day and you're like, I don't want this. But because you don't have a

spot to put it, you don't do anything with it. You procrastinate and you're like, oh, I don't have

time to declutter right now. Right. We kind of build this up like I have to do 10, 20, 30, 40, 60 minutes or an

entire weekend. You don't need to do that. If you have a dedicated donation bin, it makes it so

much easier to let stuff go. One thing a day, two things at a time, 10 things a week. It all adds up.

So the caveat with the dedicated donation bin is that it has to be in an accessible,

visible area. I keep mine in my garage. So every time I get in my car, I see it. It's a gentle

reminder and nudge, hey, Katie, do we need to declutter? Or we haven't decluttered in a few weeks.
