And this week I am just giddy to talk about the Chicks versus America because this has been going on since 2003 and I feel like people are still not like either aware of what actually happened or they've forgotten about it and they're like oh yeah didn't they say they like wanted to kill George Bush or something?

fuck those bit and I mean it's like people are still trying to like ride this wave

it's like girl like get off the surfboard like oh my god and there's a question I'll never forget from our first

Philly show and someone was like who was canceled but they didn't deserve to be canceled

and I think both of us said actually Simpson in like looking back I wish I said the

checks. Yeah because what they dealt with is like I mean I'll probably say this in

different ways like 800 times while we record this but like it's just really kind of like scary when you look back at

times where we felt like we had permission to like go after a woman or women in

this case it's like scary. Like people, when people think they have permission to

attack a woman without any consequences, like the shit gets real. Absolutely and I notice not ready to make nice is trending on Tik-talk which is honestly why I want to do this episode

I know that they do have their documentary which is called Dixie Chicks shut up and sing but this isn't like a review of that documentary we're going to talk about it a bit It's just kind of like the whole umbrella of the chicks. Yeah, I'm excited this is is Kelly pulled the notes for this. I'm like obviously I know everything that happened with the Dixie chicks, but I'm just excited to kind of like unpack it because I've never recorded about them before like ever and I do really love them like you know as a

VH1 gay like yeah I grew up loving them so I'm excited to do this to To be honest, I revisited it during 2020

with the whole Morgan Wallin scandal.

And I basically just got really mad that the chicks

are basically still canceled in country music whereas Morgan Wallin shot to

number one for like 70 weeks. Yeah and it's wild that they're like even allowed to

this is a weird thing to say but it's like

crazy that they're allowed to even be canceled given how many people now know how

unfair this was and the fact that like like country music and like country radio still feels like they can

play again plant their feet is like fucking crazy.
