Good morning, everybody. We were thinking about an episode we needed to cleanse our palace.

We're exhausted from the Baylor Republican Party.

We are exhausted by the Ukraine discussion that's been going on for a month.

Once again, we're podcasters, so I'm not saying the stakes are particularly high when we're exhausted,

but we just wanted to do an episode that felt totally out of left field.

So we were really excited that we connected with Jimmy Sony.

He's the author of The Founders, The Story of PayPal, and the entrepreneur is a shaped Silicon Valley.

Saga, who are those founders?

And why does this story actually have relevance to people who are interested in basically all the topics we're heading today?

Yeah, I mean, we talk about this with Jimmy, but some of these names, Peter Teal, David Sachs,

Reed Hoffman, Keith Repo, there are so many people who are on that list, who are some of the most important people,

and technology and in politics today.

They've not only backed some of the world-changing companies since PayPal,

but Paystyle itself was a revolutionary idea that laid the ground for crypto and for a lot of the ways that we talk about online money in the 21st century.

So that's why I actually think this book is so important,

which is something Marshall, you and I have found a real niche in, I would think,

is looking back deep into history.

I mean, people can just see all the books behind me, and then trying to find the actual parallels,

not the pop history parallels to what's happening today,

and then trace the roots of what is actually happening,
