Hey everyone, welcome back to the flight test podcast. I'm your host James Wormsley and today we have a podcast topic that will be of interest to, hopefully all of you and very relevant to, I'm sure, a good many of you. We're talking about turning your passions into work, how the RC hobby can benefit you career-wise and how to get places using it.

0:22.6

Now, of course, the RC hobby is a tool that you can use just for relaxation

0:27.8

and for having loads of fun with your friends, but I thought it would be quite interesting

0:33.3

to sort of explore this topic of maybe going you know, going into sort of drone work and photography

0:40.3

and stuff like this that a lot of people have done from originally being just hobbyists

0:47.3

and people like you and me who just enjoy RC airplanes and multi-roters and all of these

0:53.3

kind of things. So yeah, that's why I thought it would be fun to explore this topic today.

0:58.5

Before we get into this podcast, though, we've got a quick announcement here at FlightTest HQ.

1:04.0

Many of you will have already seen this already through FlightTest.com

1:07.9

and announcements on the Flight Test Facebook page.

But just so everyone is aware, we are, we've just released our first book. Um, so this is, it's called the, the flight

1:19.3

test book of RC airplanes. Um, and we're all very excited about it here. Uh, so yeah,

1:25.3

and I especially, because I actually wrote it. But yeah so this is

1:31.0

quite exciting because we've started to publish printed books to go along with

1:36.1

our speed build kits and RC gear on the store. And this is so that you you guys in

1:41.0

the community have a physical tangible means of learning about the hobby in a different

1:46.0

way to how you might have learnt about it before. So through watching videos and reading articles.

1:53.2

So yeah, this book is angled at beginners in particular, but we wanted to establish a sort of

2:00.3

solid foundational layer as hopefully the first

2:04.0

book in a series of publications. But it can really be appreciated by anyone, even if you're a

2:10.7

pro pilot. You know, from beginner to pro pilot, you'll still get value and be able to own a piece of flight test

2:18.1

on your personal bookshelf or coffee table.
