My name is Gary Butterfield. My name is Cole Ross. And you're listening to Bonfireside Chat. It is a tarnished favorite. Yeah, and this is the proper beginning of our Elden Ring season.

And welcome everybody. We've waited a long time for this day. And boy, are we happy? This is that this is great. The game is great. I am super excited to be diving into it. Gary, you've been structuring the season. Yeah, we've got good times ahead.

Yeah, yeah, it's a it's a big one conservatively. I wouldn't I wouldn't kind of looked at this. And this is it's going to be more than this because this ends up giving some short shrift to some areas and includes no specials, but 32 episodes is what I counted out.

And there will be specials and response episodes and episodes with people on it. I want to chance to talk about the music in this game at some point. Like there's a lot of extra stuff. So buckle up.

It is going to be a good long season. But the other good news part is that I hence, then in order to plan, I beat the game. And it like didn't shit the bed at the end.

It's wonderful. Controversial. This is my favorite from game. Yeah. So it's it's it's real hard. Like I can't fight off the feeling of Dark Souls one when I first got into that. Like that's a very special thing, but it's not

regrettable. I can't hold that against subsequent games. Right.

Um, let's uh, let's talk a little bit about who we are and then kind of a shape of the season. Um, stuff we have going on. So we, uh, this is if you're coming to us,

who we welcome you, we appreciate you. Um, what we do is we go basically area by area through through these from soft games.

And we talk about the encounters and what's in them. Uh, we make some lower guesses and talk about the story of these places.

Um, as best we can. And uh, the idea is to be a travel guide. That's how the show started it. And it works really well for the lands between as well. Yeah, there's lots of traveling to be done here. Lots of different places to see.

In this episode, kind of our first big one is going to be an introduction to Eldon Ring really broadly focusing on mechanics and aesthetics before we get into kind of the beat by

beat for the season. Um, we, uh, we understand there are people who, uh, just jumped on for Eldon Ring and just jumped onto the network for the Eldon Ring season.

And we are going to reference previous games in the series and previous seasons, uh, because we're people for one, we have memories. Yeah.

And then the other bit that is that, uh, Eldon Ring to, to me, at least, is what is really interesting in the context.
