Welcome back. It's beyond the box score. I'm Dan Schneier. Today, I'm here to talk to you about one of my favorite prospects in the 2026 NFL draft class, if you know me. You know I love to

bet on traits. You know I love to bet on traits, especially when it comes to the tight end

position in fantasy football. If you look at some of the data over the last four or five years,

it's no surprise NFL teams are betting on traits and athleticism over production at the tight end

position because that's what's translated

in recent years. And there's no traits bet over production better than Oscar Delp, the tight end

out of Georgia coming into this draft class. And in addition to betting on traits over production

with Delp, you got to just factor in the context. One of my favorite finds ever for fantasy football was Nico Collins because I watched the senior bowl tape. I watched them separate and I said, this kid can play. He was helped back by the Michigan quarterback situation in the Michigan scheme. It's the same for Delp at Georgia. Delp was held back by horrible quarterback play. Some off target throws, there's a cut up of it that I

can show you on Twitter that I was making earlier today. And I was like, oh my God, bad quarterback

play, a system that didn't get him involved in the passing game, a lot of screens for Zachariah

Branch, a lot of run game action. And then they used them a lot as a blocker, but that doesn't tell

the story for me about Oscar Delp and what he might be at the

NFL level. Oscar Delp is to 26 best or at least the 26 highest relative athletic score

of any tight end since 1987. That's 1,38 tight ends to test. Of course, these are pro day numbers,

but you can see it when you watch the tape. We'll get into that in a moment. He's 6 foot 4 and a half, 245 pounds, 23 bench press reps. That's like 80th percentile. He's 38-inch vert, shows the ability to high point the football on tape, a 10-5 broad jump. You can see the explosive nits. That's what we'll talk about more in a minute, both in his blocking and as a post-catch receiver.

This is one of the best athletes at the tight end position ender draft in a very, very long time.

Now, he used that athleticism to be a major factor in the run game and the past game as a blocker for Georgia, not as a receiver. How did they use him? Well, they used him on the move as a blocker, as a puller, as a sniffer. He took on edges. He set the edge in the run game. He set the, he was a puller at times, taking on linebackers at the second level, displacing them, and had a 73.5 pass block grade.

So why did Georgia need him in the receiving game when they used them in the past game as a

blocker? And in the run game as a blocker, well, when he did actually get his opportunities

in the past game, that's where he showed off the acceleration, the strong hands at the catch point,

the ability to be alignment versatile. He could line up in the slot out wide. He could not out, not as much out wide, but in the slot. He can line up in line, I should say. But he did only have a 1.22 career yards per route run, only a 16.7% career contest and catch rate, which I have an issue with because when I watch the tape, I see so many passes that were off target. And I'm like, he got his hands on it, but he was led
