brewers have not had a particularly busy offseason so far but as we're recording this it's

january 14th could get a lot more busy there's still the freddie peralta of it all lingering over

everything that kind of makes

it hard to know what this team's going to look like or at least what this rotation is going to look

like. But they did bring Brandon Woodruff back on the qualifying offer. And I guess real quick on that

one, is that an indication that Brandon Woodruff was a little worried about how the medicals would

show up in a free agent deal or did he just really want to come back for one more year?

Yeah, I think it reflected something very real about his market. It was not one of those where

he was going to come back just for the sake of giving them a hometown

discount. I was a little bit surprised. I think everybody around the team, maybe not quite

surprised, but you knew there was a chance either way, whether they would extend that offer

because the medicals have been so shaky for so long now and it wasn't

just you know he had the the shoulder injury that cost him all of 2024 it also

took forever to get back in 2025 because of these little nagging things but real

things and then another shoulder injury ended the season yep I think if it wasn't for the relationship between the two teams,

it's not so much that Woodruff wouldn't have accepted the offer without that relationship.
