Welcome everyone to another edition of the KSR pre-show. Today is Monday, May 18th. I'm Billy Rutledge,

0:09.3

along with Shannon the dude. You can give us a call on the Clark's Pumping Shop phone line at

0:12.3

859-280-2287. Text us at the Quantrell Auto Group text line at 502-2656666, off and running here on a Monday, where I just

0:24.7

turned on my webcam to see Shannon the dude, who proceeded to tell me about his vacation that he's

0:30.0

telling me next week. So it is summertime when my co-host is going to be taking some time off,

0:34.8

but we got him at least for this week. What's up, dude? How are you? How was your weekend?

0:37.9

A weekend was great. And yeah, we do, we do have, what, next Monday off because it's Memorial Day. So everybody's off that day. And then I just thought I'd take, you know, a three-long day. Three-day long Memorial Day. Just extended a little bit.

0:52.9

That's the savvy veteran move that we know and love from Shannon the dude, that he's going to take an extended Memorial Day weekend. But the weekend was great, man. I actually went to Lexington. You were in Louisville. I went to Lexington. So we just basically crossed each other on 64. I went to KS. Bar before the filter concert on Saturday. And I'm telling you, I didn't realize at KS Bar because it's been there, it's been a while since I'd been there. And I guess somebody would say as an owner, how would you not know what's on your own menu? But, you know, I'm just the minority owner here. So they don't tell me everything. But we've added this Parmesan topping that you can put on your fries, and it is awesome.

1:29.5

Like, I need to find out what that recipe is so I can eat this at home, so I don't have to drive to Lexington every time I want some Parmesan fries.

1:36.4

But they were so good.

1:37.7

Stop by there, went to Manchester Music Hall, saw my guys filter.

1:41.9

They were amazing, as always.

1:43.2

Left before Buckcherry even came on, Billy. Just drove all the way to Lexington just to see a 10-song set for my band filter. It was awesome. Well, that's what I did. The last time I was at Manchester Music Hall where I saw Alice Bluegown open up for, who was it? Everclear. You didn't stay for Ever Clear? No. I was like half half a song in. I was like, let's go.

2:01.2

This place is too great. That's a good friend, though. That's a good friend who will come see. You know, you're opening for a band that, I don't know how many albums they sold, but let's say millions of albums. And you had no interest in seeing them. You just came to see us, which I really appreciate. Yeah, I had a silcer, watched my dude up there. Did the same thing for the third-eyed blind concert at the amp. That's right. You didn't stay pretty. I like that. You're like, I'm not even impressed. Like, you're opening for these bands that have sold millions of albums. I just came to see Alice Bluegown. See, I need more friends like you. My other friends, like my friends, I've known my entire life, they are so unimpressed. They can't even be bothered to show up. Not Billy, though. Billy is there and will leave after my band's done. It doesn't even care about the other band that's more popular. Well, now I just need you to stick up for me on the big show on KSR sometimes. Well, look, man, you would be reciprocating the friendship. I have, I have when I feel like, when I feel like that I need to. But sometimes I disagree with you. And if I disagree with you, I can't just, you know, stick up for you if you don't need to be stuck up for. You know, I understand. No, I get it. Yeah. I get it, I guess. Yeah. You understand, right? I guess. Well, I mean, like, when you play a show, I'll be there. When you get married, I'll be there. I'll be there for you. That's right. You had another show this weekend, right? We did. Yeah. We played at Tin Roof. We played for three and a half hours. I'm surprised I even have a voice to talk to you this morning. Those are marathon shows. And the older I get, I'm like, I don't know if I could continue to do these three and a half hour long shows with no breaks whatsoever. You don't get the lead to How do you remember all the songs? Like, do you just like, you get into a rhythm? You play the songs in the same order every time so you remember the songs no how do you remember it's just

3:42.7

repetition man like it's just you you get into a rhythm, you play the songs in the same order every time, so you remember the songs?

3:40.9

No.

3:41.3

How do you remember?

3:42.1

It's just repetition, man.

3:43.6

Like, it's just, you do it so many times. You're just on autopilot up there. I don't even have to think about it. You know, it's like once you ride a bike, you've done it so many times. You don't have to think about it. You just ride the bike. so that's where I met with the band at this point.

3:56.9

We played those songs so many times

3:58.8

the lyrics are just there.

4:00.9

And so... think about it, you just ride the bike. So that's where I met with the band at this point. We played those songs so many times the lyrics are just there. And sometimes, you know, when you're playing 50 songs a night, there's times where maybe I'll screw up, maybe I'll forget how a song starts. But once you get me started, I'm good, you know? I just got it like something. Yeah, it comes back to you. back to yeah yeah sometimes you forget like the start
