| 0:20.0 | That's the Quantrol Auto Group text line where Shannon and I are just reading each other's minds before the show starts. Good morning, Shannon. What's up, man? Good to see you. Hey, what's going on? My mind's a scary mind to be in. So if you're reading my mind, you may not want to be there too long. You may want to get me out of here. |
| 0:38.1 | Have we reached that point where we've spent so much time with each other? |
| 0:40.8 | We're starting to pick up mannerisms or know what each other are thinking. |
| 0:45.7 | But yeah, like I can tell a lot of times what Matt's thinking. |
| 0:48.6 | Because we've been doing this for so many years. |
| 0:51.1 | If you think about it, really, like, we spend more time with each other than we |
| 0:55.8 | probably do, like, our own family members. I mean, aside from your fiance, who you probably spend, you know, more time with. But if you think about it, like, how many, do you see your mom for an hour every day or your dad every day? No, I don't. No, but you don't, but you spend an hour with me every day. So I think the same thing about Matt. |
| 1:11.0 | Like I spend two hours with Matt, |
| 1:12.9 | five days a week, |
| 1:14.5 | we're 15. every day. No, I don't. No, but you don't, but you spend an hour with me every day. So I think the same thing about Matt, like I spend two hours with Matt five days a week for 15 years, you're going to get to know somebody whether you want to or not. Yeah, for better or for worse. You're in that brain. Like, I'm not together with my parents for two hours every single day, five days a week. So you think, like people know their co-workers more intimately than maybe their family members. I mean, think about people that would do eight hours a day and you're working closely with somebody. You're seeing that person probably and you get off work and you see your family, but it's probably for a few hours and everybody goes to sleep and you see them for a few, you know, maybe an hour in the morning, then you're off to work again. I remember having this thought in school. You know, you see your classmates so often when you're in school. You really see them much more than your parents. Same applies here. And then also think about somebody that's on a team, Kentucky men's basketball team. These guys are brothers for a while. And then it's ripped out of their hands, right? Like they lose in the NCAA tournament and that's it. Everybody kind of moves on. One transfers to BYU. One goes to the NBA draft. You know, some are out of eligibility. So I mean, there's a lot of finality and all that so i can imagine that's why you see guys so upset but i mean it's not great to be with you again here dude yeah good to be here with you i'm going to say it's not like it's the oregon trail days it's not like we don't have phones where we can keep up with each other but yeah as you get older like you kind of lose touch right i don't really keep up with anybody, though, from high school. Well, that's not true. I guess a couple of people I do. Like, maybe like three. But outside of that, I don't only talk to anybody from high school. Yeah, I mean, like kind of the last few years has been a renaissance for me for, I guess, shrinking my friend's circle. And that's not because I don't want to talk to |
| 2:51.4 | people. I think that's just because you're an adult and you kind of move on with your life. But that's just the reality, Shannon. And the reality is that we were talking to each other before the show started about sign-offs. And you have a new sign-off that you do on double-king. It's not a news. |
| 3:06.1 | I've been doing this for a while. |
| 3:07.2 | But, you know, I've been in radio for 23 years, and I go, man, I always wanted like a cool sign-off that you do on double-k? No, I mean, it's not a new, I've been doing this for a while, but, you know, I've been in radio |
| 3:08.4 | for 23 years and I go, man, I always wanted like a cool sign-off, right? I was just telling you, I don't even know how it came up, but I was, I just start saying at the end of the show, like the last break that I'm on double Q or QMF, the do-a-buds. That's the last thing I say |
| 3:23.3 | When I go |
