Summary

It's the end of another year – and what a year it's been! From the Big Sing on World Parkinson's Day through the Parky Petition campaign and getting our debate in Parliament, 2025 has been a stellar year for the Movers and Shakers and our community. For this final episode before we tootle off for Christmas, we've gathered at Chez Lacey-Solymar (minus Gillian herself, who was struck down by flu) to recap our year. What were the best moments of the year that's been? And which episodes of the podcast affected us most?

Presented by Rory Cellan-Jones, Gillian Lacey-Solymar, Mark Mardell, Paul Mayhew-Archer, Sir Nicholas Mostyn and Jeremy Paxman.

Produced and edited by Nick Hilton for Podot.

You may notice that somebody's missing. Gillian. Gillian is sadly upstairs, got a terrible temperature, lost her voice.

0:56.7

So she is going to contribute out of the ether at some stage after we've actually

recorded this, but by the magic of a radio, she will make an appearance.

1:07.1

The point of this week's episode is we're going to chew the fact about what has been a tremendous year for movies and shakers.

best episode and best moment. Let's start with best episode. For some reason, I think to've got

1:43.6

the reputation of being a little difficult.

1:45.9

I can't think why.

1:47.2

So on that basis, my favourite episode was a red light episode.

1:52.4

Because, oh, you boys were not exactly keen to do it.

1:57.0

That's probably the understatement of the year.
