Welcome to the Hackett Out Golf Podcast. A year in review, 2025 is coming to an end or as end subject to when you listen to this. And we're going to just give a nice fun review. Greg Chalmers in Da House, Lou Stagnet in Da House and myself.

2025 is done. 26. Here it comes we're already in it subject to when you're

0:21.5

listening to this. So my first point is around Rory's year. So years of heartbreak. I finally won

0:27.5

the green jacket in April to start this year for the Korea Grand Slam, which I think for many

0:33.2

people was a fantastic thing to witness in our lifetime. Someone doing that was just amazing.

0:40.2

So now, in theory, the monkey is the saying is off his back. I don't know if there's any

0:45.1

monkeys on backs, really, but that's what I'm going to ask. Do we think Rory is now just going to

0:49.6

tear it up and just, is the floodgates are going to open? and he's just going to win more and more and more

0:54.9

and he's a free roller what do we think who wants to take that one first Greg what do you think yeah look

0:59.9

I think sometimes you see this go either way you see players who they've they've reached the pinnacle

1:05.4

and then they and then they go oh was that it um and they experience just a flat sort of period in their career.

1:13.5

And then other times it does do what you're talking about, where it frees people up. And

1:16.7

they're like, well, let's have it. This man is too good at golf. And I think he's going to rip it to

1:24.3

shreds. Definitely, when you play with a freedom, I think sometimes that you're definitely, I think

1:32.3

you're going to see him play with the freedom that we haven't seen before.

1:36.3

And I think we're going to see some fantastic results.

1:41.3

This story, what I loved about him winning the Masters was I love when people have to deal with

1:46.6

a really high level of pressure. And he double-bogged the first hole. It was messy. It was

1:52.1

brilliant. There was some shots in there on 15 and 17 that were just absolutely incredible golf

1:58.0

shots. I think Lou's done the stats on the chances of him hitting some of the shots he hit, how close he hit them were just amazing golf. And then two holes later, a whole lady, you saw something he's like, what are you doing, missing the green with a wedge? You know, like it was typical roaring. It was just, it was fascinating to watch, captivating to watch. Such a great golfer. I love watching him.

2:18.1

And I think we're going to see some incredible stuff from him now that he's got this under his belt.

2:23.7

Greg, have you ever played with him, Greg?
