Tomorrow, the UK basketball season opens with an exhibition against the number one team in the country.

I was looking kind of through history. Probably you could argue the second best team Kentucky will ever play, has ever played in the exhibitions.

I would say when we played the Soviet national team is probably the last time we played a team better than this one.

That was like an 88 or something, right?

Yeah.

No disrespect to Transylvania, Kentucky wasn't in Georgetown.

But are you disrespecting the Soviet national team? No. That was a big deal. That was a huge PR thing. That's when we're still fighting with the Soviet Union about things. We were fighting? Yeah. Were you heard of it? I personally wasn't fighting them. Yeah, you didn't have anything against them.

I had nothing against him. You know, they didn't either me. Well, they came here and played, I think it was 88. Was 88 or 84? One of those two times. I guess earlier, early 80s. Joe B. Hall was the coach. Yeah, so maybe 84, but they came and played here. But this is probably the second best, and I'm getting excited. Me too. I mean, I miss the old days when Czechoslovakia would come to town.

I think we beat China a couple years in the 80s. But now the number one team, preseason number one, you get a real test of what your team looks like, even though it doesn't matter. We did play a lot of countries. We played Japan? Yeah, I feel like we had that one.

But we played Czechoslovakia when Czechoslovakia was good. We lost to Czechoslovakia. Well, but I mean, think about all the countries that now themselves have great basketball teams that at one time were all together in Czechoslovakia. Have you thought about that?
