And a little surprised my co-host didn't take a vacation day today, as he knew today was episode 1,000. Shannon, the dude is here live and in color. What's up, Shannon? How are you? I'm doing fine. I'm doing okay. I'm doing okay. I would have taken a vacation day, but I was promised on show 1,000, there would be a cake, there would be balloons,

there would be belly dancers,

and none of that is here in the studio right now. I mean, there's nothing. Like, there's absolutely nothing for show 1,000, and I'm a little disappointed. So you ask how I'm doing it. I mean, I'm doing okay. I could be doing a lot better if those things I was promised were actually here in the studio with me, but they're not. I don't remember those promises. Here, balling on a budge over here in Lexington, can't afford a cake or belly dancers to give you here in the Louisville studio. So maybe you were expecting that from our bosses. But nevertheless, Shannon, it's been a hell of a ride with you, buddy. Yeah, man. It's been a lot of fun. I can't believe it's been 1,000. So we started this show back in October of what year? Would that be 21? Excuse me, I get choked up just thinking about it. And I remember getting a call from our boss. I remember where I was. But I got a call from our boss and said, hey, would you be interested in doing a pre-show. And I didn't quite understand what he meant.

He had to explain it because I thought got a call from my boss and said, hey, would you be interested in doing a pre-show?

And I didn't quite understand what he meant. He had to explain it because I thought he meant like, would I be interested in doing like the pre-game shows, like before Kentucky basketball games or football games? And I was like, eh, no. I don't know. I kind of like, you know, what I got going on here. I don't know. He's like, no, no, no, no.

Because he called it a pregame show at the time.

But he said, no, I'm not talking about before a game. I'm talking about a pre-show, a show before KSR where you guys, you and Billy, would do the show together. I was like, Billy, really, really? You're going to stick me Billy. Oh, is that your first reaction? Yeah. I was like, okay. So then he was like, you know, kind of like a wrap-up show, but the wrap-up show is before the show.

If that makes any sense at all. Like if you listen to the Howard Stern show, they used to have a wrap-up show. I don't think they have that anymore, but they used to have a show where they kind of recapped everything that happened on KSR. and after I thought about it, I was like, you know what? That kind of sounds cool.

That sounds like a lot of fun.

1,000 shows. Pretty amazing. And I'm thankful that you were on board because maybe months

before we got the show, I asked you to be the co-host on my new podcast and you turned me down.
