And we are broadcasting live today, Main Street in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, where they just started the Hunger Walk.

The Christian Appalachian Project hosting their 14th annual Hunger Walk. And Shannon, they just started it right before we kicked off the show. And there's like 1,300 walkers right now right behind us doing the Hunger Walk. It's kind of impressive. Yeah, it is. And it's for a great cause, as you pointed out there. And I got stuck behind this. We talked about this on the pre-show a few minutes ago but I got stuck behind this big parade and almost didn't make it here because of the hunger walk I didn't know they were going to start at 830 in the morning but here they are and we're right here on main street and there's three other ones going on throughout Kentucky today as well right yeah McCrory County has theirs today Jackson County and then there's also one in Fayette County for LCA so you kind of hear him walk behind us

a lot of the Rock Castle County student body came out to support the walk we're all wearing the

orange shirt orange is the color to help fight hunger a lot of orange a lot of orange so they're also

collecting critical funds non-perishable food items to support vulnerable communities in Kentucky. That's what the Christian Appalachian Project is all about. The Hunger Walk has just kicked off. And you can still help. I mean, we're going to take throughout the show of ways you can help. But it's right now the walk walking right behind is here on Main Street go ahead Mario this is so cool man like have you guys

have you guys ever done like a walk or I know you did

well yeah I don't want to make this about me but yeah I have done a 50 mile walk

I never I never knew that about you yeah so this little walk around downtown

was probably nothing for you once you just jump right in there

We've got to tell you why we're down here. One in five children goes hungry every day in Appalachia in Kentucky. Yeah, yeah.

When I read that this morning, I was like, wow, I had no idea. That is an eye-opening stat when you hear that. And it is really sad. That is very sad. There are a lot of kids where the only meal they eat all day is the school lunch. Man, that is terrible. We got to do something about that, man. Well, that's what the Christian Appalachian Project is all about trying to do that.
