Summary

Welcome to WEDŪ's stage preview and prediction-focused show, OŪTCOMES, which is hosted by THEMOVE regulars Johan Bruyneel, who has led teams to nine Tour de France titles as a director, and Spencer Martin, writer of the Beyond the Peloton in-depth race breakdown newsletter. The duo uses their extensive knowledge of the sport to attempt to predict the outcome of each Tour de France stage while breaking down the course, top contenders, and potential betting opportunities. This episode previews the Tour's 21st stage, which breaks from the tradition of the final sprint stage in Paris by serving up a 34-kilometer mountain time trial from Monaco to Nice. Listen in to see how the duo thinks the action will play out, who will come out on top, and which riders present the best betting value.

It is a time trial on break from the usual tradition of the sprint stage in Paris. The tour got kicked out of Paris. So they're in Nice. And it a time trial from Monaco to Nice 33.7 kilometers long. That may not sound that hard, but it is essentially

1:01.2

a mountain stage. There's two climbs along the route. I believe it's over, it's like

1:06.6

750 meters of climbing. So a lot of climbing. You're either climbing or descending,

1:12.7

climbing away from Monaco, descending back down in the Nice, goes over Koldez,

1:16.6

the famous climb from Perry Nice.

1:19.3

I'll list off the odds from Unibet, and we'll get Johann's take on who is going to win this.

1:25.2

Tadipagachar is the heavy, heavy, heavy, heavy favorite at minus 150, Rimcoe Evanapult plus 200, Jonas Fendigo plus 600, Juala Ameta plus 3,300,

1:34.6

Mateo Jorgensen, Ben Healy plus 10,000, wow fed art plus 10,000, Derek G plus 15,000.

1:43.4

And I've never seen odds like this before in my life.

1:47.0

They start dropping so quickly that you have time trial specialists like Luke

1:51.2

Durbridge at plus 150,000.

1:54.4

Jai Henley, the man won a grand tour recently plus 150,000.

1:58.9

That may sound appealing, but we'll break down why that is maybe actually not a great bet.

2:04.3

But Johan, who do you think is going to win this time trial?

2:07.9

Yeah.

2:08.1

Well, as you said, Spencer, you know, it's a hard time trial.

2:11.1

It's basically it's close to 700 meters of vertical in the first 17 kilometers.
