which is nice it's a treat but I want to start with probably the most important quote that I think should be taking you into 2023 now I originally heard this quote a few years ago but it didn't sit with me it wasn't sticky well I sit here today and it is quite sticky

episode 38 no gruffs given I'm going to go on a little solo run here probably be a short time not a long time but we're going to get into it first of all the holidays are behind us new years is behind us

man man oh man I don't know yeah you know I'll just be honest it was it was a tough holidays okay it was a tough holidays I you know I guess man there's nothing like setting your intentions and having time to think when you're alone

right you know being alone is a is a while there's a darkness to it but I think that there's also something that you have to pull from it right because if you spend time thinking while you're alone

if you spend time processing processing if you spend time setting your intentions well and I think that that time was productive doesn't make it easy you know and listen you can be to certain extent amongst family and friends and still feel alone you know what's happened happen

which is an expression of the fate in the mechanics of the world it's not an excuse to do nothing so I guess this was the first time in a long time that I was alone on new years and alone on Christmas which you know it sucks it sucks

but something has happened over the last little while and I guess I've I could say that I found music again right and part of it was the story that I told it's been this evolution right I got back into hip hop

and then that crossed over into while the mechanics of the world I was using that hip hop as a warm up device but then when the holidays started to approach I don't know something happened and I got back to my roots a little bit which is I'm a jam band guy you know through and through I'll remember my first fish show what happened to me

I was one of those people that went to a show and left with their mind below now part of that was because I had my mind altered somewhat or I had some help but I think that's part of the experience you know it's fun to kind of just lose yourself every once in a while

not lose it but just lose yourself right give yourself a little bit of a different perspective let your hair down

so I find myself I don't know you know I think it's the mechanics of the world I have to be honest with you like because that's what got me through the last week it was a tough week I had four fish shows all right I you know fish for everybody that isn't a fish fan the mechanics of this band are quite remarkable

you know they've created a streaming service that is essentially world class I mean you can go on if they're doing a show you can buy the show it's like a paper view you can buy the show you open it up on your computer you stream it to your TV there's no lag 4k quality it's really quite remarkable but what happened before fish started their run

was I was introduced to this band called goose now goose was in LA in August they played the Greek theater I would say the goose is probably one of the fastest growing bands in the country they are a I don't even I mean you you would have to say that they've taken inspiration from fish the structure of their music

the jams the runs even some of the song titles how they you know they have these unusual titles and and they also play a lot of covers but this band is young fish just played their 40th year New Year's Eve was their 40th anniversary I'll get into that

but these goose kids man kids from Connecticut these kids are ripping these kids are ripping I highly recommend anyone if you have the ability if they're playing in a town near Europe you buy yourself a ticket and go lose yourself a little bit

feel the energy and that's the other thing I guess maybe I was drawn back to it because of the energy right the energy of knowing the people in the camaraderie and how everybody just kind of comes together for really a beautiful cause which is to have fun to dance to feel the energy of every everyone around you

and I and I got to tell you I know I said that I'm done with talking about the COVID stuff but is it me or is this stuff creeping back in are they trying to bring this agenda back to the forefront now after two years and seeing where we are today and the effects of those two years I got to say over my dead body you know I'm addicted to jujitsu I'm a martial artist

I can tell that my life is changing before my eyes not only my life but my body I threw my Fitbit in the garbage those steps that's a full man's game you know running 60 miles a week for the last God knows how many years

fools gold ok I am 12 weeks into my jujitsu journey the weight is just it's like a waterfall it's falling off of me ok I feel so empowered I feel like a completely different person now I think it's the accumulation of a lot of things

I also have a full grown beard right now and I'm not going to shave it and it's just going to keep going and it is wild I can't believe that I'm doing it
