the four episode Friday with a look at the Saints. First thoughts on the Saints is that the

quarterback fit with Derek Carr is really, really good. This is going to be a very natural fit,

and there was clearly an emphasis from the coaching staff on doing so and getting

him acclimated very quickly. They did something that was really smart, which to me, surprisingly,

was not a huge story. But when Carr was added in March, as they went through the offseason

workouts, coaching staff for the Saints brought in John Gruden. Of course, Derek Carr played with

John Gruden, learned the West Coast offensive system, which is something that Saints' offensive

coordinator, Pete Carmichael, has lived and breathed for the last two decades. So the systems

between what Gruden ran, what Carmichael runs, what the Saints are, very, very similar.

And Carr echoed this in some statements where he said that the learning curve for him

picking up this offense was minimal. It was way less than most quarterbacks face when they're

switching teams. A lot of that had to do with John Gruden. The reason why it's such a good fit for Derek Carr,

not only does he know it, but his playing style really fits it. If you think about what Derek

Carr is, you're probably in your mind picturing quick drops, short throws, a lot of accuracy,

occasionally just backbreaking mistakes, but that's really what
