Hello. Hello and a very warm welcome to the late-breaking F-1 podcast presented by Sam's age and me, Ben Hocking.

Reviewing qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Sam, we're in New Territory, a qualifying review.

What are we doing?

0:43.8

I honestly, Saturday podcast, I don't know what's going on, but at least the world of Formula One blessed us with another sensational qualifying session. Yes, thank you to the racing lords.

How good has qualified being this season, let alone just what we just watched, right?

0:54.5

Absolutely phenomenal.

0:56.7

They're onto something with this format.

0:58.7

I know sprint races are prevalent, but I think they might be onto something with this.

Q1 in 16th. Q2, Pierre Gasly and 15th, 14, Ricardo 13. We'll touch on that later on. Esteban Okon 12th and then Carlos Seines. It was on the front row here last year, just 11th this year. And then finally, Q3, Nika Holcomberg, again appearing in Q3 and 10th.

1:45.4

Perez, 9th, Alonzo 8th, Bottas, 7th in a good day for Alfa Romeo, Leclair 6th, Joe Guanyu starting in fifth place, two McLaren's on the second row, Piastri 4th and Norris 3rd, Vestappen in second. And then Lewis Hamilton, and we'll start with this, claiming his first

poll position since Jedder. I think we're going back over 18 months since his last poll position.

2:08.2

What did you make of his performance?

2:11.0

I mean, there was a little part of me that remembered I used to be a Lewis Hamilton fan

2:16.5

when he first came to the scene. And I think... Despite, no, despise him when he crossed the line and it went to 0.0.03, the gap between like that, I don't care who it is. I don't care whether it be Sergio Perez of Stappen, it'd be Lecler in Science, whether it be Sergeant and Albon.

2:34.8

I don't care who it is.

2:36.1

That gap in qualifying is what we live for.

2:39.9
