Hello, my friends. Welcome back to the morning mindset. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas

celebration yesterday. I am excited to start a short little series right here between

Christmas and New Year's. You know, we often, as we look toward a New Year, use it as

kind of a reset point. You hear all kinds of people talk about New Year's resolutions

and the things that they want to do differently in their lives in the coming year. And I'm all

for trying to make changes. I don't typically make resolutions myself because I don't see

them as being that helpful, but I do have times of planning and prayer and preparation for

the year ahead. Setting goals, looking forward to what God has in store, and prayerfully

considering what might he be calling me to do to up my game, so to speak, spiritually,

in my own life as my role in my role as a father and as a husband in my role as a teacher

of God's word. And I want to take us through a little exercise here over the next six to

seven days, ending on January 1, 2022, for us to prepare our hearts and minds before the

Lord, for what he might have in store for us this coming year. Now, as we do this, let

me tell you a couple of things, just kind of as disclaimers. First off, there's no magic

formulas to this. I'm not going to give you any kind of prescription or step-by-step process

that you can follow to ensure a happy and healthy and prosperous new year. That's not how

Christianity works. Our role is to align ourselves with the mind of God. You hear me say that

over and over in the morning, mindset. We want to align our minds with the truth of God's

word. And in this situation, we're going to be doing that within a particular context.

We're going to be seeking to align our minds with God's thoughts for our lives in 2022.

Now, I think you would agree with me that none of us knows what 2022 holds. I mean, think

back to 2020 and the whole pandemic shut down in panic that swept the globe. None of us
