| 0:00.0 | Welcome to Rates and barrels. It's Monday, February 1st, Derek Van Riper here with |
| 0:19.9 | Enosaris, continuing our position preview series. |
| 0:22.8 | We move on to third base, which coincidentally was a position in which a star was moved over the weekend. |
| 0:29.7 | The move is still not official, but Eno, Nolan Aeronado, appears to be headed to St. Louis for a pretty underwhelming return based on what we know right now. |
| 0:40.7 | That, of course, still not totally official, but that sort of leads off the news segment of today's show. |
| 0:48.0 | And the first question everybody has is, with Aeronado, how much are we really taking away from his projection with the move |
| 0:57.4 | out of Coors Field into a pretty pitcher-friendly environment like Bush Stadium? |
| 1:03.6 | Yeah, it's tough because it's also wrapped up in this shoulder injury that he had, you know, |
| 1:09.8 | that tanked some of his numbers. |
| 1:11.6 | But you don't just take the away numbers, and the reason you don't do that is because |
| 1:19.6 | Colorado hitters see vastly different pitch mixes when they're on the road because, you know, |
| 1:29.9 | breaking balls don't work in Colorado. |
| 1:31.9 | So they see a ton of fastballs at home. |
| 1:34.1 | They become fastball-centric. |
| 1:35.7 | They swing more on fastballs in the league and they do damage with it at home. |
| 1:41.1 | Then they go on the road where the rest of the league has been trending away from the |
| 1:45.2 | fastball for a long time, has been training towards the break ball, and they just see a ton of junk. |
| 1:50.2 | And you can even see it in Arnado's splits. |
| 1:54.0 | The first two days after he leaves, he has like a 700 OPS for his career. |
| 1:59.0 | And then the days after that, he climbs up to sort of an |
| 2:03.3 | 850 type situation and higher. So I personally think he'll hit something like 275 with a 350 |
| 2:10.7 | OBP and a 500 slugging. It's not vintage Colorado. It's definitely had some Babbap air taken |
