Hello everybody welcome back to the WTF1 podcast activate waving puppets edition of Tommy and Katie of course we are talking about the Spanish Grand Prix the circuit the Barcelona Catalonia where we had very little expectations didn't we we we thought that well I think I tweeted on the run up to it if we had one overtake it will be a banger and actually well we got a few more than that and one of them was for the lead so overall I think it's going to be a rather positive podcast for something that we expected to be talking about putting the the track in the

bin I'm pretty sure that was our last year last time they raised their thumbnail was should the circuit the Barcelona Castle and you'd be removed and I don't know how you there's still arguments anyway Tommy of course is the WTF1 founder just started to put that in there so my contract as always and Katie the WTF1 editor people actually believe people actually believe that yeah because it's true say it right three-word race reviews let's dive straight in Ermsey says hungry part two Aaron underscore

race reviews that yeah I mean I I disagree with sage I mean do I disagree or do I think that it was okay was it one off I yeah we'll get onto that last

to came I'm sure at some point but I think if that was to be changed I probably wouldn't call it to be removed because I think it's

actually quite a nice cat it's a nice track is just no one can overtake there I think it's two different things you've got the likes of

Sochi which I think is a terrible track and then you've got Spain which I don't think is a terrible track but no one can overtake so I feel like there's two

different definitions it made the race better if anything that you can overtake because and this is while everyone's going to jump in and say this is just you

covering yourself a monoco absolutely yes that the race was the way race was actually quite good because overtaking was difficult

because the pace I mean we're going to it the pace of Lewis was so good that maybe on a easy track to overtake we wouldn't have had that intriguing strategy

battle because it could have just breached past them in the DRS now it certainly was a surprise to have as much action as we did in Spain

because like you say we all think Spain's going to be really boring and it's going to be a snooze first and it's a chance for an

afternoon nap but actually it proved to be quite a decent race for Spain considering and yeah I don't know if I want it

necessarily we're removed from the calendar I mean it might have been helped this year that we can go testing there which is why the action was particularly good

but I know that a lot of fans find that Spanish track really accessible and you know for young fans visiting a first grumpy you know Spain's normally quite a good one for them so for that reason I'd quite like it to stay on the calendar

yeah no one who watches Formula One is going to be thinking about the fans that attend the Grand Prix are they though because unfortunately well I sound

unfortunately there are a lot more millions watching on TV than there are going to the track as much as you know it is lovely for fans to be able to go to a track and enjoy it and of course you know Spanish fans are really really passionate as well

especially you know when Fernando Alonso was winning and whatnot yeah but I think we give it a chance until the new regs and then if it's still not great get rid of it I think that's pretty much it because we decide

look I know people are going to be like let me just any excuse to bash the second Red Bullseap because I feel like I am always the one to be very outspoken on this sort of stuff but I'll take it I'll take I'll take the heat because yes there are times where well there is time for Perez to get used to that Red Bullseap

when our four races in okay and I'm not expecting him to be beating Max for stabbing however that hole in qualifying which I mentioned in IBR between Bottas and Lecler was enormous it was about seven tenths of a second Perez not slotting in there I know he says his shoulder was bad and he wasn't well and you know this sort of stuff but there's you still have to do your job as much as you know you either don't race because you can't race or you race and you are not going to be able to do it.

You do the best as you can I don't for me I don't buy excuse like that because we can't measure it as an outsider is to whether how bad this injury is you know you might have just had a bit of a you know a bit of a
