Welcome back my friends to the morning mindset. I hope you are ready to get your mind

aligned with the truth of God. We are wrapping up our 2020 reset with today's episode. I wanted to bring you one more

passage from the book of First Corinthians chapter number nine. Paul is speaking of

our ability to be a tool of God in spreading the gospel to those around us.

You see, that's how God spreads the gospel primarily, is in everyday life, shoulder to shoulder face to face as we rub against the people around

us.

It's those interactions.

It's when they see the gospel fleshed out in everyday living, that they see a convincing portrait of what

the gospel can do in a human life.

And that's Paul's point here.

In a verse number 24, he's wrapping up this particular chapter with an exhortation to us to take

this manifest that we've received from Christ very seriously.

He says in verse 24, do you not know

that in a race all the runners run

but only one receives the prize?

So think about that in terms of the Olympics or some other race that you may be involved with or

NASCAR if you're a NASCAR fan. Only one person is going to win is going to cross that finish line first. He's saying you know that from human

experience. So in the sense of our spiritual endeavors he says run that you may obtain it

run in such a way that you may obtain that prize

in verse 25 every athlete exercises self-control in all things they do it to receive a

perishable wreath. Now in their day the

prize was not a trophy, it was a wreath that would go on their head. So he
