This is our annual year and review show

episode 344. Today is Thursday, December 19th, 2019. I'm Jeff O'Neill here with

Rebecca Schinsky coming to you from the tail end of 2019 from and from

book right dot com Rebecca it's been it has you know it it has flown by and

been filled with all kinds of happenings.

So I'm looking forward to reviewing some of the things that happened this year.

It didn't seem like that wild of a year in publishing.

And then I went back through a year's worth of our trusty

podcast agenda document that's now like 700 pages long. It always feels that way

like yeah there's not going to be much like oh wait that happened. Oh wait that happened too. I can't believe it

Before we get to specific stories

Was there a big picture, is there any big picture interesting stuff? Like, where are we? We sometimes ask this question, where are we in the world of books reading?

I think the last couple years who sort of said,

we're steady as she going it a little bit.

And in the macro sense, it feels like books

are kind of how books have been for the last couple years

on a macro school.

Yeah, I agree. It didn't feel like there were any big shake-ups this year, no big changes or developments,
